Geriatric Medicine Seminar Series

This seminar will showcase Prof Ruth Hubbard’s NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence grant, which aims to
improve hospital outcomes for frail patients through six interdisciplinary research programs. Dr Kristiana
Ludlow and Dr Benignus Logan will provide an overview of the six programs and discuss the CRE's approach
to engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, students, peak bodies and
organisations, consumers, and caregivers.

Centre for Health Services Research's Geriatric Medicine Seminar 'Frailty KIT: An Australian Frailty Network to Create Knowledge, Implement Findings and Support Training' was presented on 29 November 2022 by Professor Ruth Hubbard, Professor Sarah Hilmer, Professor Maria Fiatarone Singh, Professor Michelle Miller, and Professor Loretta Baldassar.

This seminar explores how to design dementia-enabling clinical settings. It will provide an overview of the design principles that help to mitigate the cognitive and functional deficits experienced by many people with dementia. Two examples - from community aged care and hospital settings - are presented by the clinicians involved in their design and implementation.
