Associate Professor Graeme MacdonaldAssociate Professor Macdonald is a Senior Staff Specialist in the Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and a member of the Queensland Liver Transplant Service. He trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology was at the Princess Alexandra Hospital before undertaking a Fellowship in Hepatology at the University of Michigan. His clinical interests are predominantly in liver disease and he provides clinical services in general Hepatology, and the care of patient’s pre- and post-liver transplantation. His research interests are in obesity-related liver injury and liver transplantation, including the role of lifestyle interventions to address fitness and nutrition in these populations. He has received peer-reviewed funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council; the Cancer Council of Queensland, and other funding bodies, and supervised 12 research higher degree students. He has published over 90 articles and book chapters related to liver disease.
