Dr Nina Meloncelli is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Allied Health Translating Research into Practice (AH-TRIP) Program Lead for Metro North and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In 2021, Nina was awarded a Queensland Advancing Clinical Research Fellowship to lead the Healthy Gut Diet for Preventing Gestational Diabetes Study. As a lived experience researcher, Nina is passionate about improving women’s experience in pregnancy, particularly in the area of gestational diabetes and the prevention of chronic disease. Women-centred care that improves nutrition and lifestyle outcomes for women during the reproductive years is what drives Nina’s research.

Nina recognises the important role researchers play in reducing research waste and incorporates integrated knowledge translation approaches and co-design to develop and undertake research that matters the most to end-users. When she’s not undertaking research activities, Nina leads a knowledge translation and implementation support initiative within Metro North Health as AH-TRIP program lead and chair of the Helix Hub Implementation Support Working Group.
