The webinars will include a short presentation (20-30 minutes) on a specific telehealth topic, and a Q&A panel discussion (20 minutes) involving experts from the COH and the ATHS. Participants are encouraged to send their questions to enquiries@coh.uq.edu.au and the panel members will do their best to address these.

Webinar topic: What makes telehealth services work?

Presented by: Dr Alan Taylor, Associate Lecturer, Flinders University & Australian Telehealth Society Committee Member

Dr. Alan Taylor’s research focusses on the sustainability of telehealth services including the role of standards, guidelines, socio-technical codes and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alan has twenty years of experience in the public and private sectors in Australia, Europe and Africa as a project manager, academic, ICT strategist, and architect. 

Alan’s webinar presentation will reflect on his experience in Australia and Brazil, comparing telehealth service models in each country, and factors which contribute to uptake and sustainability. Dr Taylor will also be introducing his new book called: “Healthcare Technology in Context: Lessons for Telehealth in the Age of COVID-19”.
