Ben is a practicing kidney specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, clinical trialist at the Australasian Kidney Trials Network, senior lecturer at The University of Queensland and an editorial fellow at the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. He has expertise in chronic kidney disease, haemodialysis, quality improvement, and clinical trials and has received numerous awards for his research, including the Australia and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN) Young Investigator Award in 2023. He is a member of the ANZSN Quality Improvement Subcommittee, organised the 2024 Quality Improvement Workshop and contributed to the launch of a nationwide surveillance program for haemodialysis bloodstream infections, which will facilitate optimal patient safety for dialysis patients in Australia. He was the site champion for the mainstream kidney genetics program at Monash Health from 2023 to 2024 and is now the site principal investigator for the IMPEDE-PKD clinical trial at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
