Researcher biography

Ryan's qualification include a Bachelor of Science, Extended Major in Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Science (Honours). He is a PhD candidate in the Applied Clinical Anatomy Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine in the School of Biomedical Sciences. He completed a Bachelor of Science (Extended Major) at The University of Queensland in 2018 and in 2019 completed a Bachelor of Science Honours in the field of Anatomy.

He has a particular interest in ageing, with the cornerstone of his candidature investigating the chronic condition of frailty. His PhD candidature is currently performing studies to further the understanding the underlying biomedical mechanisms causing the condition. This primarily involves the relationship with the microcirculation, a hypothesised cause of reduced physiological reserve, with known phenotypical characteristics of frailty.
