Dr Shaw has a Bachelor of Applied Science(Hons) in Optometry, a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics and a PhD “Eyelid pressure on the cornea”, which was awarded a QUT Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award. As a Senior Research Fellow and investigator on industry-funded clinical trials for many years, she developed experience in clinical research project management including ethics, project design, protocol development, data management and reporting. These interests in research management led to her current appointment as project manager for the NHMRC Ideas project “Organ Transplantation as a Model of Reversible Frailty” (2023-2026).
