Presented by Jane Hoffman and Dr Rachel Wenke.

As artificial intelligence (AI) gains prominence in everyday life and healthcare delivery, little is known about how allied health professionals perceive AI in healthcare. A mixed methods study was conducted June 2023 with allied health professionals from the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.

Quantitative data was collected via an online cross-sectional survey while qualitative insights were gathered through focus groups informed by behaviour change theory. This revealed factors that influence allied health professional perceptions of AI, key barriers and enabling factors impacting clinician adoption of AI in healthcare delivery.
