Dr Richard Bryant is a General Surgeon specialising in General, Laparoscopic and Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery.

He is a consultant surgeon at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and undertakes private practice at Holy Spirit Northside Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Association and General Surgeons Australia. 

Snomed and FHIR will be the foundation of a new era for clinical data. This talk will delve in to some of the details of the specifications and implementations to demonstrate the opportunities for data science and interoperability, and discuss how understanding some of the details can inspire simple solutions to complex problems.
