Natalie has a clinical background as nurse where she specialised in paediatric oncology and palliative care.  Families with children who require treatment for childhood cancer or life limiting conditions are required to travel from throughout Queensland  to Brisbane to access care, and it was witnessing this burden of travel that sparked Natalie’s interest in telehealth. With the support of the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, in 2009 Natalie commenced work at the Centre for Online Health to investigate the potential of home telehealth to support children with life limiting illness and their families throughout Queensland. As the project developed, the opportunity to undertake a PhD in the area eventuated and Natalie completed this in March 2014.  Natalie has a keen interest in research, particularly health services research  investigating models of care for optimal health care delivery.
