Dr Falconer is a Research Fellow with the Centre for Health Services Research, with projects focused on optimising health outcomes for older adults and antimicrobial stewardship in the residential aged care setting. Dr Falconer provides academic oversight and support to the AMS ENGAGEMENT Study (Medical Research Futures Fund: APP1152503). Other key research areas include research related to medication harm, predictive analytics and digital health in acute care. Dr Falconer is a registered pharmacist and works as a senior research pharmacist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. She is also active in the School of Pharmacy as an affiliate, teaching in the UQ Intern Training Programme.
